Children's Programs

Sunday School
Our Sunday School program is designed to help our children to grow in their faith and to teach them how to care for others and the world around them. We use biblically based material and do whatever we can to create an atmosphere of love, acceptance and encouragement in learning and following God's word.

Classes offered include
* Crib Nursery: infant care available during the service
* Toddler Care: for ages 2 and 3 years during the service
* Four year olds and Kindergarten
* Elementary Class 2nd to 4th Grade
* Junior High

Communion Celebration
Children are also invited to participate in Communion with a special Communion Celebration for our 3rd graders. In preparation the students explore the meaning of Communion in more detail with an instructor over the course of 2 months.

Confirmation
Confirmation is offered to 8th graders. Weekly classes typically begin in January and conclude on a Sunday in early June. At that time, the confirmands ?renew the solemn vows and promises? made at their baptism.

Acolytes
We encourage our Junior High Students to receive training as acolytes and participate in the service on a rotating basis.

Missions
Our Sunday School mission program is designed to teach our children how to care for and to reach out to others. This is an opportunity for children learn that their efforts can have a very positive, lasting and heartfelt effect on the less fortunate members of our community and world. The children will participate in an annual hands-on mission project and write letters of encouragement from time to time.

Annual Programs
Christmas Pageant
One Sunday prior to Christmas the entire service is devoted to our pageant with children of all ages participating. Rehearsals take place on two Saturday's prior to the actual service.

Vacation Bible Camp
Our Vacation Bible School is held each year during the first week of August. This one week program involves toddlers through teens as they explore different fun paths to learning about Christianity.

Rally Day
Rally Day kicks off the Sunday School year with an all-church party. The event is co-hosted with other church committees.

How To Get Involved
We are always looking for individuals willing to teach or substitute teach Sunday School.

Volunteers are welcome to help with the Christmas Pageant including costumes, decorations and rehearsal.

Vacation Bible Camp would not be possible without volunteers. Adults and students in 6th grade on are needed as teachers, and for decorations, snacks, crafts, photography and more.

If you are interested in participating in any of these important ministries, contact Isabella Cavaco the Director of Christian Education or the Pastor.
