Church STAFF


PASTOR  
Rev. Dr. Edwin Jones 		Dr. Jones was born in Johannesburg South Africa . He is married to Una, also a native of South Africa and together they have two grown children, a son Wesley who lives in Queen Creek Arizona and a daughter Michelle who lives in Norwalk Connecticut . Dr. Jones received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College , in Owensboro Kentucky , his Master of Divinity degree from Boston University , School of Theology and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Drew Seminary in Madison New Jersey. He served several churches in South Africa as their superintendent minister and here in the USA he served the Methodist church in Lynn Massachusetts, Warwick Rhode, Yorktown Heights, New York, New Canaan Ct, and now the Seaford United Methodist church. His passion as a pastor is to help people bridge the spiritual, relational, and financial gaps in their lives. He is also a firm believer in the notion that the best is yet to be.

SECRETARY
Mrs. Christine V Gerbasio 		Mrs. Christine Gerbasio joined our staff as both the Church and PreSchool Secretary in July of 2009. Her duties include all the administrative and office management functions for the Pastor, PreSchool Director, Church members and the Pre-School Teachers, parents and children. Prior to assuming this position, Christine was a stay at home mom raising her family. She was formerly employed for 14 years in the Banking Industry as an Administrative Assistant to a Senior Vice President.  Christine has been married to her husband, Vincent, for 13 years. They have two beautiful young children.

 

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR   
Mrs. Dorothy B. Gast
Dorothy Gast joined the preschool staff in 1998 and has been a Lead Teacher for the past seven years. She currently serves as the Preschool Director as well as teaching a Pre-K class. Mrs. Gast is a graduate of Adelphi University earning a Bachelor's degree In Speech Pathology and Audiology. She is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters. She has taught religious instruction for St. William the Abbot religious program for nine years and has also volunteered for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. She is a past president of the Seaford Special Education Parent Teacher Association

CHURCH TREASURER
Mrs. Sandra Francaviglia 		Sandy Francaviglia has been the Pre-School treasurer and the assistant Church treasurer since 1998. She became the Church treasurer last year. In addition to her duties as the Church and Pre-School treasurers, she is the Office Manager/Full Charge Bookkeeper for two different real estate management companies. Sandy graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. For 10 years, she was the Youth Group advisor.

She is a member of the Praise Musicians, playing the keyboard, and along with her husband, Walter, has been an active member of the church for over 15 years.

CHURCH ORGANIST
Janet Hoffner 		Janet Hoffner is a dedicated music educator and has been working with children for almost 20 years. She has taught vocal and classroom music in grades K - 6, as well as provided both group and individual instruction for piano, voice, strings, and woodwinds. Janet can be heard performing on clarinet at both public and private venues throughout the year with the Concert Pops Orchestra, and has been accompanying our worship service at the organ console since April of 2010.  Janet and her husband Brian were married in the Seaford United Methodist Church , and praise God each and every day for their loving little daughter, Elizabeth Grace.

SEXTON
Mr. Walter Cook 		Walter Cook has worked for Kelmar Systems Inc. for 17 years. He is currently a production manager. Walter is a graduate of the Seaford Pre-School , class of 1975 and has grown up in the Methodist Church , being confirmed in 1985. Throughout high school and college he worked as Assistant Sexton here at the Methodist Church and now, in addition to his regular career at Kelmar, does a fine job as our Church and Pre-School Sexton. Walter and his wife, Leslie, were married in 1999 and they have two beautiful boys. Walter is active in cub scouts where he is the cub master for his boy's pack and the den leader for each of his boys.
